...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following
county, Fairfield and southeast New York, including the following
counties, Putnam and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danbury, Mount Kisco, Mahopac, Brewster, Ridgefield, Bethel,
New Fairfield, Redding, Carmel, Yorktown Heights, Jefferson
Valley, Croton-on-Hudson, Brewster Hill, Golden's Bridge and
Peach Lake.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following
areas, Northern Fairfield, Northern Middlesex, Northern New Haven,
Northern New London, Southern Fairfield, Southern Middlesex,
Southern New Haven and Southern New London, northeast New Jersey,
including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Passaic,
Western Bergen and Western Passaic, and southeast New York,
including the following areas, Northern Westchester, Orange,
Putnam, Rockland and Southern Westchester.

* WHEN...Through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional rainfall of around 2 inches is possible through
Friday. Locally higher amounts cannot be ruled out where
rains are persistent. With the ground already saturated in
many areas and river and stream levels running high, a flood
threat exists across the area.
